Mona

Mona

Huffington Post actually said this band just might save Rock and Roll. Mona got their start in Ohio and Kentucky but soon after, the band moved to Nashville, which continues to be their home.

The band is: Nick Brown  singer, guitar and keyboard player.  Vince Gard plays drums, Zach Lindsey jams the bass, and Jordan Young plays guitar. The recent interviewed by HuffPost, took place right before they hit the stage to open for Silversun Pickups. When the band was asked which genre their music would fall into, they really didn't like the idea of being labeled  as one thing or another. And when they finally did attach themselves to a genre, it was Rock and Roll, plain and simple. That's my kind of attitude! They are just who they are; a band, that loves music, and who can rock it out! As Nick Brown said, "I think there was a time (in the past)  when there was a clear vision. People wanted to do something, people caught on and it was what it was. And they didn't call it like 'Gee, what is the new Ramones album sound like'. It was just the (bleeping) Ramones!" Oh how true that is! There really are too  many "genre labels"  for music, which is  a shame because sometimes that boxes an artist in to being something that they didn't intend to be.

We have to say we are very impressed with Mona, and we agree, that this is the start of something big for them. We like the music, the lyrics, the singer's voice, and the feel and  element of the actual video itself. We give Mona a Rock It! score. Their new album "Torches and Pitchforks" is available for download via iTunes and Amazon. Now check out their new video "Goons (Baby, I Need It All)". We added the lyrics below,  to make it even better! Enjoy!

UPDATE- Fixed the wrong words! Newbie mistake #1, not double checking your lyrics!)

I'm something to see
See you standing in line just to be there
And you're looking at me
Something 'bout the way I do my thang thang
I'm getting under your skin
So you know
It's something like a freefall
Your just, like the wind when you blow
Cos baby I need it all

I need it all

It's sin city with me
You don't care 'bout the who when where or how
Your so free
Tell me once again what's your name name
I'm getting under your skin and you know
It's something like a freefall
Your just, like the wind when you blow
And baby I need it all

I need it all

I'm getting under your skin and you know
It's something like a freefall
Your just, like the wind when you blow
And baby I need it all
Baby I need it all
I need it all
Baby I need it all
I need it all

I've got you under my skin and you know
Baby I need it all

I want you more than I know when I say
Baby I need it all

I want you more than I know when I say
Baby I need it all

I want you more than I know when I say
Baby I need it all

Kyshera

Kyshera

I discovered Kyshera just recently through Twitter. I decided to sit down and give them a listen and perhaps in my humble opinion explain how the songs made me feel and how each song came across to me.

The first song I listened to was 'Vote With A Bullet.' That's all it took to make me want to hear more. I'm not really into super hard music, but this song has such a mash-up sound that it totally works, and it totally rocks! I couldn't keep myself from jamming along. No, really, I jammed! :)  I really can't explain the awesomeness of it, so just check it out! Make sure you got it loud! This song is smokin'!

The next video viewed was titled "Mannequine', and I have to admit, while I dug the song it was  just not as good as 'Vote With A Bullet'. We take into factor that the video was posted a year ago, so you can obviously see that they continue to improve especially after hearing 'Vote With A Bullet'.
Also, it kind of helps if you listen without watching the video. Not because the guys are hard to look at, quite the opposite actually, but because you get distracted by the fact that the singer keeps looking at the camera at "inopportune" times.  :)   As one YouTube user posted, it was "slightly awesome mwahahaha". We agree. See the video here.

The third and last song viewed was titled 'Shelf Life', and has a political and social message. In the video a band member throws away money as a story is told onscreen of the billions  spent for political nonsense and other wasteful spending by the human race. The video shows how with just a little money we could cure the world. Yet instead it seems money is being wasted on wars that need not be fought, or the amount women spend on make-up. The video sits well with the song and it is pretty eye opening. Seeing as how these boys are from across the pond, it shows how  global these issues are. We are shown the someone in this video (the world) who sees the wrong yet will keep going along, allowing it to happen. But really, what can each as an individual do? There is only so much. We are tackled down by our jobs and our families, working for a government who cannot even cure world hunger. And we can't get everyone to change his/her attitudes. That's how life is. Here's the video for 'Shelf Life'

Overall, I would have to say, Kyshera has great potential to be an amazing band. With that said, we definitely think it would be worthwhile for you to check them out, and we give them a 'Rock It' score!

Let us know what you guys think! We can't wait to get your feedback!

It seems, that whatever her doctors have been doing is slowly working. Amanda was reported to be crying on two differnt occasion, due to being scared about her court dates. 'That 70's Show' Star Dies.

Terribley sad news today regarding former 'That 70's Star' Lisa Robbin Kelly. We have just learned that Ms. Kelly, who had checked herself into a drug rehabilitaion center earlier this week, has passed away in her sleep, do to the complications her body faced during recovery. Many know of the past addicition that Lisa dealt with. She was even released for a short time from 'That 70's Show' due to her drug problems.

You remember the Forman's from FOX's smash hit 'That 70's Show'. And how can you not remember the sibling rivalry between brother and sister Eric and Laurie? Laurie was so good at tormenting her little brother, and making out with his friends. She was the "wild child" of the Forman family. It's just too bad, it went beyond what was written for her in the show.

An autopsy has not yet been performed and a death certificate has not yet been issued. A spokesman for the rehab center told E News!, "Unfortunately Lisa Robin Kelly passed away last evening. Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years. I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. Last night she lost the battle."

Lisa had many run ins with the law, including being charged with a DUI.

We are sincerly saddened by this news, always hoping that she would pull herself together. We never in a million years figured this is where the beautiful blonde would end up.

Kristen Stewart Heads Back to School

There are stories circulating all over the web that Kristen Stewart, of the Twilight series, has enrolled at the prestige Southern California university, UCLA.

It has been reported that Kristen has enrolled in an English literature course, where she will be using UCLA's distance learning program. This will help Ms. Stewart complete her course while still being able to keep up with her "day job".

A closer insider has reported to Vouge Magazine, "She is already considering a life after film. She never got to complete college and she wants to get a proper education," said a source, according to tabloid reports. "She is a voracious reader and cannot wait to get going on her correspondence course. It won't be easy and it will mean putting in some fairly strenuous hours. But once she's graduated, Kristen will be able to do almost anything she wants, in or out of Hollywood."

I think, good for her! Kristen joins one of the many celebs that have gone on to continue with their higher education, including the likes of Emma Watson and Dakota Fanning.

Simon Cowell Love Triangle?

As it turns out, Simon Cowell was dating Carmen Electra for about six months before she caught Mr. Cowell and Lauren Silverman red handed at Simon's home. According to an insider who spoke with E! News, "Carmen was at Simon's house in L.A. when she literally busted him with Lauren. Simon called her a friend, but there was nothing platonic about what was going on, if you know what I mean." The source went on to say that Carmen "high-tailed it out of there. There was no way she was going to stick around and be a third wheel."

But this was months and months ago, and now, as most of you know, Simon is about to become a parent with his new girlfriend Lauren Silverman. And that is anther love triangle, as Lauren was married to Simon's longtime friend Andrew Silverman. Mr. Silverman even names Simon Cowell as a co-respondant in his divorce case.

Carmen on the other hand, has no ill feelings towards Cowell. She recently responded to questions from reporters about Simon during her 2013 Do Something Awards. She graciously went on to say, "I'm so happy for him!" the former Baywatch babe said enthusiastically. "What I witnessed working with him on Britain's Got Talent and coming to see him during X Factor is that the people he truly believes in, he stands up for them and supports them. So I obviously think that his child will be very well taken care and very, very loved. I'm going to call him as soon as I get in the car after the event," Electra added. "I want to know if it's a boy or a girl. It's awesome, I'm super happy for him."

What do you all think about this whole situation with Simon/Lauren/Andrew? Seems pretty messed up to me! At least Carmen Electra doesn't seem to have a problem as she wishes them nothing but the best.

Look Who's Directing TPB's

Ok, you all know I like Trailer Park Boys. If you haven't checked them out yet, make sure you do. YOu can find them on Netflix, or on their web channel www.swearnet.com. If you have not watched it, you probably wont get this picture, but if you have, can you tell me who is in this picture directing an episode of TPB's??

That's right boys! It's Cory. He may look a little older, thicker, and wiser, but that is our main man, Cory. No word yet on if Trevor will be back. We truely hope he does come back though, because although we love us some Cory, we love Cory and Trevor even more!

Are you excited about the new season of TPB's? Let us know your thoughts and your favorite lines from the movie!

Who's Ready for the 'Entourage' Movie?

Since the last episode of  popular series 'Entourage' ended back in 2011, fans have eagerly awaited the ever anticipated 'Entourage' movie. Almost all of the folks involved in the show are up for making the movie based on the series. So, what's the hold up?

According to the series creator Doug Ellin, after being asked about the movie via Twitter, the reason is quit simply that it's not an easy task at hand. He tweeted "Trying to get everyone on board. Ain't easy." Which means, most likely, that the movie is not due to come out until much later than most fans expected.

We are not sure what the hold up is, only that it's not the main actors, as they are pretty much open as far as their schedules are concerned. Ellin is on board to make the movie based on the series he created, we just don't know WHEN it will happen.

In April, the shows star Adrian Grenier stated to HuffPost Live that "Making movies is hard. It's going to take some time. I know you're anxious," he said. "I am too." As are the rest of the cast, including Kevin McConnelly . "It can't happen fast enough for me," he commented to HuffPost Entertainment.

What are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to an 'Entourage" movie?

Mark Explains Alternative Video for Blink 182's "Josie"

Mark Hoppus explained the first video concept for "Josie"  on his Reddit account when asked about the 2011 leak of the recrecording.

He goes on to explain...
"i had an idea for the josie video, that we would be the band playing on the deck of an old cruise liner as it sunk. we would play in real time as everything around us exploded in slow motion. gradually at first, building in intensity, reaching complete catastrpohe at the end. people running, sparks flying, superstructure collapsing. the ship floods, and the last shot of the video is the ship sinking into the dark waters as the song ends "everything's gonna be fine." the label listened and said "cool, but no. that video will cost millions of dollars." so the alternative was us playing in a basement and the pipes break. the room floods and we continue playing. we shot the video in the backlot of universal studios on a very cold and long day. i just remember shivering and the water always being shockingly cold every time we had to get in it. bracing. so cold. the first edit came back and no one was really feeling it, so we scrapped it and started over."

Well, we are glade they decided to go the way they did. I love the Josie video! And I love Blink!

Amanda Bynes Case UPDATE

***************UPDATE FROM EARLIER BLOG*****************

The judge in the case has granted Amanda Bynes mother temporary conservatorship after the hearing proceeded today without Amanda. Ms. Bynes was still on a psychiatric hold after the judge determined she was too mentally unstable to travel to the courthouse. The conservtorship is limited, and anything her parent's may want to pursue will have to go through Amanda's attorney.

I'm actually  finding myself relieved. If there is really something wrong with the girl, she will need the love and support of her family. And I really hope that they truly love her and that is the ONLY reason they are doing it. I feel for her, as I know what it's like to be lost. And I know in hindsight, that what I really needed were real people who really loved me.

What do you think? If you have any thoughts, please post below in the comments section

Judge Grants Amanda Bynes Doctor's Temporary Conservatorship

A Ventura County judge has granted the doctor's of Amanda Bynes a an extended temporary 30 day conservatorship of the emotionally unstable actress. A conservatorship is granted when a person is deemed unable to take care of him/herself or his/her finances. Ms. Bynes parents are in the process of requesting full conservatorhip over their daughter and will  continue to pursue a court order during this 30 days.

The judge was informed that Amanda was too emotionally unstable to make the trip to the hearing in Ventura where he was to  decide whether or not to grant Amanda's parents a conservatorship. To come to his decision, the judge actually traveled from Ventura to the Thousand Oaks hospital where Amanda was admitted with a temporary psychiatric hold, to interview her.

In order to grant a conservatorship a person must be "gravely unabled". It seems that the judge did find that Amanda is extremely unstable but wants to take precautions before handing over legal control to her parents. The judge said that because Amanda is already under a 14 day hold, there was no need for an emergency decision.

Amanda was admitted after she was arrested for allegedly starting fire to the drive way of a residential home in Thousand Oaks.

I can't help but feel really sad for Amanda Bynes. She is such a beautiful girl, and seemingly had the world in her hands. It is disturbing how public opinion of a celebrity can really get into that celebrities head and change who they know themselves to be. I continue to give my support and well wishes to Amanda and cannot wait until the day I can blog about her living the life she was meant to live. Good luck Amanda! We are pulling for you!

Shady's Back.

Eminem hit the the stage last night for for G-Shocks 30th Anniversary "Shock The World" party and concert. He performed some of his best hits, showing that even after all these years, Em's still got it.

Included in his set were "Cleaning Out My Closet", "Airplanes Pt. II" and followed up with an encore performance of "Lose Yourself." However, he did not perform any new songs, despite many rumors going around that he planned to drop a new album in 2013.

Performing a list of hits songs spanning nearly a decade, Eminem entertained actors, athletes, and the many excited music writers who were in attendance. Eminem has been keeping a low profile for quite a while and many of his fans cannot wait to hear new music.

Does Em still have it? What do you think?

Beyonce's New Hair

Did you all see the photo's of Beyonce sporting a new, shorter hairstyle? Ms. Knowles posted photo's of her new pixie-like cut via Instagram on Wednesday and has been receiving a ton of flack over it.

She stated, "The names I've been called since I cut my hair... Everyone said I was a lesbian but I'm like, 'Being a lesbian isn't a bad thing. So if you think I look like I'm a lesbian, I'm not
offended. You can call me much worse.' I've been called much worse. Being a lesbian is a compliment more than what else they call me."

It is only speculation that her new short look may be due to an incident that happened last week  while performing in Montreal, when her beautiful long hair got caught in an industrial size fan. Man, that had to hurt! Maybe she want's to make sure that will never happen again!

It's nice to know that she's got a thick skin and doesn't really care what the general public think. If she likes it, then that is all that matters. I'm not sure if I'm sold yet on the look. Sometimes it takes me a while to get used to something before I see the beauty in it. What do you all think? Is Bey's hair a 'yay" or a "nay"? Comment below!

Trailer Park Boys Return

Oh my goodness! Did you know that the Trailer Park Boys are returning for a new season after being off the air since 2008?

I discovered the Trailer Park Boys while tyring to find something to watch on Netflix. I was hooked right away! It may not be your type of comedy, but to me, it is hilarious! The show follows all the pot smoking, rum drinking, money making exploits of the residents of Sunnyvale Trailer Park.

Shared on FB will filming.
The main characters are Julian, Ricky, and Bubbles, but they have a supporting cast that add a great dynamic to the show. Seriously, it is one of the funniest shows I've seen in a long time. The only thing is, the show will not be broadcast on television but can be found on their new website channel SwearNet.com. Viewing their show online doesn't bother me at all, seeing as how the internet is the only way I've ever watched TBP.

Trailer Park Boys was cancelled in 2008, but John Paul Tremblay (Julian), Robb Wells (Ricky) and Mike Smith (Bubbles) have recently purchased the rights to TBP's and are now in the process of filming it's 8th season.

I cannot wait to see what the Boys come up with next! This girl is EXCITED!

John Stamos Visits Hospitalized Fan

I’ve always liked John Stamos. And now I have an even bigger reason to adore him!

Mr. Stamos visited the hospital room of Kaitlyn Dobrow, who almost lost her life to a bacterial meningitis infection. Kaitlyn lost all of her limbs, but is healing, and taking things in stride. At first she was devastated about the loss of her limbs, but eventually she came to terms with it and even joked, “Who needs a left arm anyway?”

Not only did John stop by to show Kaitlyn support, the two also made a date to go to Disneyland. John posted this photo to his Twitter account saying,

“I'm ONLY doing this cause they asked. I said no press. but this story is a must read- plus me and katie have a date to Disneyland.”

Katie is going through some very painful skin grafts, and will need a lot of recovery time, but the most awesome news of all is that Katie is going to live!

What a great guy John is! We know that he and Katie will have a blast on their “date”. We are truly amazed at Katie's attitude and wish her a speedy recovery!
